As more and more people become aware of the growing need for change in their lives in this wonderful world we inhabit, we often look outward for clues as to what to change, how to change it and when to do it. All around us there are clues to these changes so we naturally think the answers are out there somewhere waiting to work on us almost detached from ourselves. It is true that the answers are there but we need to be able to recognize them and to do that we must work from within.

Our lives and worlds are constantly changing, whether we like it or not we are creating and being creative all the time. We are creative spaces and creative spaces need tools, mediums, supports, direction and a will to create, therefore change. This book is about our creative spaces and in particular my creative space.

Introduction

The largest perceived space in our universe is our mind and soul our very being which allows us to react. Without this there would be nothing we would not exist. Rather than being a fixed known quantity it can be changed and developed for a purposeful progression along the path of our life. There are so many ideas as to what our mind and soul are but is it necessary to know this in depth to live a fulfilling life? We continually use all our senses without questioning them; we can become complacent about them, taking them for granted. Unfortunately, we possess more senses than we generally recognize even if we employ them without knowing. All my life I have been aware of other forces acting upon me, sometimes I have ignored them and paid the price, other times I have recognized and used them allowing me to create naturally and spontaneously and with each progression my awareness of other forces has been heightened. Eventually I realized that I was a part of these forces and could tap into the wisdom that we all seek. This is not to say that things have always seemed logical or right . Far from it, in fact some of the indicated directions have seemed suicidal. I am still here and have learnt through these experiences that once you see the light and start to trust in your intuition and the power of the universe whatever that is- event take on a more meaningful perspective. We can be creative in any area of our lives we choose, the largest of all being our inner space which we all take for granted as a static sometimes dinosaur like organ.

So where do we start? There is a vast array of books, workshops, therapies and self-help groups. The answer, being a smart arse, is the beginning, which is anywhere you want it to be. As soon as we start to look at any part of our lives in a different light then the rest of it follows. One small change facilitates the need for a whole series of changes. The difference being that the changes are made aware of and we do seem to have some say in how our life expands. The changes no longer appear to be accompanied by those gut wrenching feelings that leave us paralyses with anxiety and a question Why Me? It all transmutes into a progression, a journey and a part of an every minute experience where insights are received and the world is a beautiful place. Sometimes however this does not appear to be the case.

Stop the world I want to get off! This phrase is well used and most I am sure have said it at one time or another. Sorry mate you cannot. Well that is not strictly true because you can always throw yourself off a bridge or tie yourself to the railway tracks. This tactic does not always have the desired effect there may be a strike or it may be a stupidly low bridge. In which case all that will happen is you will get very hungry and go home or sprain an ankle, adding to your general discomfort. No you cannot get off so you might as well get in, get on or get out. An Australian whose name escapes me spoke these pearls of wisdom and they have stuck with me through thick and thin. Although said in a very light hearted manner their meaning runs deep and as good a philosophy as any in a tight spot. The point about them is they are immediately practical and puts all the possible outcomes firmly in your hands. To take a favored example I hate my job. Our new found phrase tells us to a) Get in and change the situation from the inside, b) Get on with it and stop moaning or c) Get out of the detested god forsaken job and do something else.

Right that was easy but not quite so simple to implement you may think. You would be surprised at how easy it is to do. Once you see different possible answers to a particular problem you realize that you do have some control over what happens. Not only that, just the mere thought that you want to change something allows other forces around you to help. People are influenced by these thoughts of yours even if not tangible at first. Perhaps your boss wants to implement some changes and is looking for someone or something to present itself. And for some strange reason your name pops into his mind, these things do happen. In a completely different way you may decide that mutiny is the answer and start doing silly and reckless things. This will present you with all sorts of new avenues probably beginning with you getting the sack. However I am sure you can see my point. We are not talking about running off and saving the world, becoming ordained or contacting some huge super-natural force and turning your life upside down immediately, that comes later.

Changing jobs is a normal life decision and taken quite easily, a lot of it depends on what we are prepared to put up with. Armed with this little philosophy, which I will return to at times a whole New World can unfold before us. Of course as I said before, once we change one thing others will follow, the progress is up to us. The first changes do not have to be that drastic, simply trimming your beard or changing the color of you hair can make you feel better. This in turn raises self-esteem, allowing more assertiveness, a better self-image and therefore projecting a more positive image to people around you. Taken to its logical conclusion you are recognized as a more valuable member of the work team and given a pay rise or you realize eventually that you are much too good for the idiots you are working for and look for another job. The important thing is that we are aware of these subtle changes and build on them. The agenda is entirely up to you. What needs changing in you life is different to what needs changing in mine.

Most life changing decisions are not as dramatic as the one talked about above. We constantly change it is going on at all levels. Breathing eating and sleeping all have an effect on things around us and are within them selves a process of change. So do not be afraid of it we do it all the time and do not realize we are doing it Be aware. There is a huge world out there and in us, create some small change and see what happens. Observe how you and others react the process is unavoidable so you may as well have input.

As well as the physical all these changes and creations apply to our spirit and the entire universe. We strive for harmony in all things for unity and peace; we constantly wonder how these changes can be brought about. We can create them by beginning to change ourselves, by asking questions of ourselves and looking for the answers in whatever direction we choose. There is great antagonism between belief systems when all are striving for the same things, each has its own particular way of explaining how to do this that and the next thing. Most of it is just the way things are said and the inference put on certain words or phrases those course problems. We seem to relish conflict and power struggles, each wanting another piece of each others energy, land or love. I believe it is possible to have all we want for and more. Many books have talked of letting go of fear and living in the light. I accept all those principles and more, I hope to illustrate and illuminate them in my own way adding some practical help from someone who has Got in, Got on or Got out on many occasions. The processes we employ are incredible.
